The Norsk Hus Inn is nestled on the fringe of the central business district of downtown Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The historic home was homesteaded in l896 by Judge Joseph Bishop and his wife Maude. It has been owned by a number of families over the past 100 years. The current owners have fully restored the beautiful old home to its splendor of yesterday. The guest rooms are tastefully furnished with antiques and family heirlooms. The romantic dining room, Ei Kaffestove, offers fine Norwegian and American delicacies on Friday and Saturday evenings for our guests, by reservation only. There are many charming features in each room. Leaded and stained glass windows grace the Great Room and Ei Kaffestove. Oak and maple wood floors gleam throughout the Inn. Four sets of stately French doors with beveled glass windows and the original brass hardware add to the charm and romance of the Norsk Hus. Period wallpaper, stately fireplaces, the original built-in, mirrored sideboard in Ei Kaffestove and a large open staircase blend harmoniously with the magnificence of early craftsmanship. The original back porch provides a cozy setting for respite and invites one to relax with a cup of coffee or glass of iced tea. Whether you are looking for a "romantic weekend get away" or visiting our fair city for business purposes, the Norsk Hus Inn welcomes you.
